IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THIS: "OUR GOD IS LOVE."

The perfect verse for Valentine: 1 John 4:10.
"THIS IS REAL LOVE — NOT THAT WE LOVED GOD, BUT THAT HE LOVED US AND SENT JESUS AS A SACRIFICE TO TAKE AWAY OUR SINS."

"IT IS THE MEMORY THAT ENABLES A PERSON TO GATHER ROSES IN JANUARY."

One month could leave so much memory to share.

Take January, for example.

Not every month you celebrate new year, attend Phillipinos-style wedding, visit planetarium, have home parties, hang out with hisashi-buri friends, meet new friends, do YearEnd closing, and get promotion at work (thank God!). Not to mention all the friendship and awesome church in-between!

Amidst all the bad hair days and near-death experience at YearEnd-related work,
you can still find the so-called heartwarming moments of life.

However, if I were to untie the bundle of these life-gifts,
it all comes down to this one word:

"GRACE."

Quoting our beloved Ps. Rod:
Grace is something we receive that we can't give back.

How true is that! God has given me so much this year I can't stop thanking Him. And I'm glad He didn't use my good deeds to measure my blessings! God gives simply because He loves us. That's why we call it amazing. AMAZING GRACE.

To put it in another words:
THE BEST YEAR EVER, STARTS. NOW.

Happy New Year 2011

Let us start with a quote:

LIVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE —
MAKE YOUR WHOLE LIFE YOUR ART
.

Welcome to 2011, both for you and for me.
Wish you the best year of your life, ever =)

TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS

HOME is a place you grow up wanting to leave,
and grow old wanting to get back to.

- John Ed Pearce

when you read this blog, i prolly won't be in Tokyo anymore.
i'll be going home.

it's been two years since the last time i returned.
i kinda worried whether my Indonesian is still okay or not (^^;)

BUT before that, let me say my parting words to the heat season:

SUMMER, for lack of better word,
isCRAZY.

i don't think i have enough words to describe how awesome was my summer, but if you want more than words, do check out some of my pics in Facebook.

and this is so true:
The key of having GREAT WEEKDAYS is having GREAT WEEKENDS.

anyways, here is my schedule for next week:

9/18 SINGAPORE
9/19-9/22 BALI, INDONESIA

so my dear summer, here i come to see you again :)

if you need anything, feel free to email my PC.

"And drivin' down the road I get a feelin'
that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday ...

Country roads, take me home
to the place I belong ..."

THE SWEET SMELL OF SUMMER AFTER THE RAIN

some things i want to write down before summer breeze comes:

1. PROBATION period

after three months since i started working here, finally this day came.
the end of probation period on July 1st. so yeah, after the long wait, i'm now officially EMPLOYED.

... so yeah,
v(^---------------------^=)

2. TIME waits for no one
were i to describe my job, i would say it like this:

A BATTLE AGAINST TIME.

now i understand a bit the feeling of people who catch the last train to go home. everyday for me is still a challenge: new things, new stuff, new job, and hundreds of emails. rather than boring, i want things to move a bit slower ka na. at least now i know that the dates multiple of "5" are pretty much hellish for me (^^;)

3. BBQ+
sometimes the best thing about BBQ is not the meat. it's the fun that comes with, and after it (which includes wandering around the park and fitting 12 people into a purikura booth).
btw the meat was second best ;)

4. SUMMER

5. HANABI
in English, fireworks. hope to see 'em this summer!

6. THE BEST SMELL OF THE MONTH

... is the sweet smell of summer after the rain.
a bit soily, greeny, yet fresh and warm smell. that kind of smell ;)

7. PULANG
last but definitely not the least,
for all of you who are still in Bali, i'm going HOME on 9/18-23.

klo masih di Bali, sempetin ketemuan yahhh ...
hopefully it will be an awesome going-home trip i long for :)

so i guess that means,
i'll SEE YOU somewhere in BALI!

MORE AND BETTER LIFE

i've been trying to update this blog periodically,
but the more i try, the more i prove a sheer impossibility (^^;)

so how's LIFE?

・・・PRETTY AWESOME, i think XD

yes, i'm still alive :)
WORK is definitely NOT EASY, but i am blessed with a great team. my team is pretty much nice and dependable, so i do enjoy working with them (although my senpai probably doesn't feel the same - LOL). my team mostly speak in japanese, but all the emails are in english, so you guess it: i'm losing my kanji (><;)

two precious months have passed,
yet i'm still learning new things each and every single day. don't sweat the small stuff, or so it says, but you can't help it when you deal with numbers. my work also consists of daily deadline(s), so everyday has been a tough battle against time. and here's what exactly i need: Excel's keyboard shortcuts - and super fast finger skills! of course, a free cup of coffee on the morning has always been an extra help for the day =)

i learned a lot in this company --
about FINANCE, about WORK, and about LIVING A REAL LIFE.
i also found that the following verse hold true:
"I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." - John 10:10

and thought you might care,
here are some of the things i learned:

0. LEARN SOMETHING - even from your mistakes.
a quote from Brian Houston, "Increase your value so you can accomplish in a SINGLE DAY what once would have taken a THOUSAND days."

1. BE PREPARED FOR THE UNPREPARED.
you never know when your senpai will have her mandatory leave or when your computer freeze before the deadline, so always have a room for some surprises in a day. and of course, NEVER check your Outlook inbox 5 mins before you are about to leave the office!

2. TEA BREAK(s)
everyone needs a break or two, with a cup of tea and some sweets - especially if your job includes a lot of waiting(s). a 105-yen-tiramisu from Family Mart can always get you through the day :)

3. SLEEP WELL - but not on office hours.
believe me, it's been pretty hard to come to the office having slept at 3 am the previous day. so dead. especially when all your other team members did the same.

4. TALK. CHAT. JAM. CALL. MEET.
Genesis 2:18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone ..."

5. TIME IS MONEY.
(do i even need to write some comments here?...)

6. LAUGH-OUT-LOUD.
you've got pretty much work-stressed people around you - it won't help if you add another gloomy person there, y'knaw! it takes 72 muscles to frown and only 14 to smile.

7. BE THANKFUL.
i guess this sums up everything:
work should be enjoyed, not endured :)

... and that's all folks!
stay tuned, and i hope i can see you again at the end of this month.

PS.

THE LEGEND CONTINUES

finally,
CONNECTED to the cyber world!

it has been a week of happenings.

i'm doing great - new home, new workplace, new colleagues. i started my job on April 1st, and am now fighting to finish my three-weeks training. (and to be honest, i don't think i will finish the training within three weeks!) i'm not going to say it's easy, but i am really excited about this!!! thank God for this awesome job!

this is a picture my father took when he was here in Tokyo, and it kinda shows what i have been doing for the last few days, and probably for the next few years.

the biggest difference between a student and a working person is that i really have NO TIME. since last week i haven't even had my own time due to obviously training, and ... parties? ;) i don't even have time to shop and to cook! but i have to say that i'm living life to its fullest!

... okay, better get some sleep.

stay tune for some more news ...
uh, probably after i finish my training (^^;)

GET THE PARTY STARTED

everyone, i just ...

FRESHLY GRADUATED TODAY !!!

i have lots of pics but haven't gotten the chance to upload since i've been really busy with this moving out and preparing for my new job (><;) yes, i am going to start working within one week! april 1st will unfold the curtain to my new stage of life. it's just so EXCITING, don't you think? a new beginning. a new journey. and who knows? - a new me.

the first three months will be training. or at least, that's what i was told. well, this is my first time to work, and i'm going to work in overseas i.e. japan, so that's a thing i'm concerned with. i really need to improve my honorific expressions!

so everyone,
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME (><;)

but you know,
it feels like a dream comes true.
and dreams do come true. at least in my case.

anyway, this will be my last blog in march since my internet will be disconnected soon, so please contact my mobile phone to reach me. i will update you with stories as soon as i am connected, so expect some awesome posts!!!

i hope i can get an internet connection within a week.
(this is where i reallyreallyreally want an iPhone. or a Blackberry.)

let me close and start with these verses.

Isaiah 43:18-19
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.
It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is!
I'm making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands."

HOME, SWEET HOME

last week i had LOTS of PEOPLE celebrating my birthday!

i just want to say thank you so much for all the treats, for all the parties, for all the mails, for all the comments and wall posts, for all the presents, and for being there for me! i might haven't said this to you directly, but i just want to say, i'm grateful for each one of you!

thank you so much for all that you have done for me!
and i do mean it: THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!

some of my presents - they're just so cool! thanks heaps!

thank you so much for being my friends. it's because of you guys i can call japan as my second home. YOU MAKE MY LIFE WORTH LIVING. i really thank God every time i think of you. as the saying goes,

"It takes hands to build a house,
but only hearts can build a home."

... and speaking of housing,
EVERYONE, I'M MOVING OUT AND IN!

thanks for praying about my new apartment ^^

some of you reading this haven't known yet, but i'll be starting my job in a financial company in tokyo from april 1st. my old apartment is a bit far and the traffic is lacking, so i'm moving somewhere near my company. i mean, really near - LOL.

btw i love my new neighbourhood (^-^)v

so to be honest, my room is such a mess right now, and i don't even know where to start. it's never been easy to leave a place full of memories. but you know, there are so much more memories to make in the future. that's why ... i have to start packing - LOL.

so much things to do, yet so little time.

let me close with a poem from Henry Van Dyke:

"Every house where love abides
     And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

PS.
i can't express how thankful i am for your presence in my life.

A QUARTER CLOSER TO ETERNITY

so i finally arrived at this point.

... anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.

it feels like i'm growing older a bit, but still, i felt i have grown so much in different areas of my life since my last birthday!

what kind of year will it be?

new job. new place to live. new people to meet. new friends. new way of living. new personality ... or maybe not - LOL. new role. new fashion. new habits. new attitude. new happiness!

yes, i'm expecting A WHOLE NEW WORLD.

and amidst all of that, one thing that will never going to change is this solemn promise in the Bible.

this verse has changed my whole life, and i'm going to believe it as i step to a whole new life!

and i do hope God hears my birthday wish(es) - LOL.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the mails and comments and prayers.

... and thanks for taking care of me last year! i know i'll cause more troubles for you guys this year, so please bear with me for another year ne! m(_ _)m

i'll end it with a quote from Abraham Lincoln.

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count.
It's the life in your years."

EVERYTHING THAT HAS A BEGINNING HAS AN END

long time no see.

it's been awhile since the last time i posted.

at the end of last month i submitted my thesis,
and now the graduation ceremony is just few days ahead.

five years.

ever since i landed in japan in April 2nd, 2004, except for the exams day i've had so much fun. i learned japanese, passed the entrance exam, studied a bit more and played a lot more, started job-hunting, received job recommendation, finished my graduation research and here i am. so ordinary and simple, yet for me, these days are precious. i met lots of people, did lots of silly things, cried hard and then laughed harder, and also, learned a lot of things.

i'm glad i came to japan!

and,
for japanese embassy. for mext. for teachers in japanese language school. for foreign students. for all of you in my university. for all of you in SIM/DIS course. for all of you in JLH. for my part-time co-workers. for all of you i happened to meet. and for all others.
i just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. i owed a lot in these five years. thank you.

of course, thank God too.
thanks for letting me come to japan.
thanks for taking care of me in japan.

HOWEVER ...

my journey in japan is not finished yet!!!
just like what my co-worker said, it's still TO BE CONTINUED.
TO BE CONTINUEDです。

so everyone, please keep watching over my endless journey from now on m(_ _)m

anyway,
this blog will also evolve - LOL.
no longer can i write about university life - reports and final exams, spring break and summer break, job-hunting and thesis. in exchange, well, what should i write? my experience in workplace? gourmet in Shibuya? after-7 parties? - LOL

Stay tune in this blog for the next page of M!

lastly, let me quote from Liberace.

"The difference between men and boys
is the price of their toys."

WHAT A WEEK

allow me to say one thing:

freezing COOOOOOOLD !!!

so the last exam for this year was OVER !!!

... it felt like this year was finished.

the exam was harder than i thought o(><;)(;><)o

it's quite on the edge. i needed more concentration back there. well, it's just a qualification exam, so even if i fail i can take it again next year. and for you who prayed, encouraged, and sent mails to me, THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!! you're all awesome ^^

no matter the results,
what has ended, has ended ! YEY !!! - LOL.

what a peaceful week it has been.

my graduation thesis is progressing somewhat, my part-time job is going okay, anyway this ordinary one week has been awesomely pleasant! also, i've got a mail from the company i'll be working for next year about VISA and next year's housing - YEY !!! o(^-^)o this made me realize i'm really going to stay in Japan. thanks God^^

yeah, i have to start looking for a place to move next year.

and btw, my part-time job is moving too!

SO、
let me say goodbye to the sunset of Roppongi Itchoume 16F,
and let me welcome the sunrise of Tamachi Yonchoume 7F.

to sum it all up,
thanks God for this wonderful week(^-^)v

re:CAP

so lots of things happened between this post and my last post.

... and i don't know how to recap - LOL.

anyway, i just want to post a blog before this month is over.

SO,
i am currently *LOCKED* at my research lab with my graduation thesis on the way. i am currently "translating" my sensei's programming code from PYTHON to RUBY - two programming language i have never even used before. one word for that: TIME-CONSUMING. but RUBY is quite a simple yet powerful - 感動したというか、未だに感動しています^^

AND,
my study for qualification exam is not doing really well to be honest, since i'm on the verge of burnout and couldn't really focus recently.

BTW,
i had one of the looooooongest week in my life where i have to WAIT. and no, it's not anywhere near what you are thinking - LOL. 5 days felt like years - seriously! so much things i couldn't share - but i decided to mention it as a reminder for the future.

when you have to wait,
sometimes, it's not about you -
no matter what you do or what you say,
there are things you can't change and things you can't control.

but tough times like this test people,
and of everything, GOD IS NEVERTHELESS FAITHFUL.

thank you for the weekend drama.

i only need to review around 900 pages - but even that is not easy. with the exam in three weeks from now, Armageddon is (kinda) near (苦笑)

i'll close with Bible verses shared today at Kingdom Builders:

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

GROW

let me start today with a famous quote from Elbert Hubbard:
NO MAN NEEDS A VACATION SO MUCH AS THE MAN WHO HAS JUST HAD ONE.

. . . so my autumn break ended, and my last winter semester has started.

the theme for my graduation thesis has been decided.
i don't really understand it yet, but it's about UO2 (Uranium Dioxide) - a material for light water reactor fuel. well it's only about analyzing the results, so no experiment which is GREAT! - lol.

last week i went to orientation in the company i will work for next year.
i was really motivated by my will-be co-workers: they are moving forward, different from me who spent too much time on playing around - lol. i want to focus more on my study for next year!

. . . here's what i wanna say:

the experiment results for my thesis, plus textbooks for my qualification exams and some assignments from my will-be company has exceeded MORE THAN 4000 PAGES - which i have to finish reading and studying and passing the exams before February. that's a BIG CHALLENGE in front of me now.

TEXTBOOKS (height ±33 cm)

i never dreamed my last sem in uni would turn into a spartan training period!

. . . SO,
i'll start living my life in the library and lab (T.T;)
i won't be able to look at mixi or FB that much, so plz mail to my mobile if there is an urgent need. btw you know that i changed my mobile to SoftBank right? and plz pray that i'll finish my study on time.

last but not least,
i will close with a video clip from ROCKY BALBOA that inspires me not to give up.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are - it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It's about how much you can take and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done.

Now if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits and not pointing fingers, saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that, and that ain't you. YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT.

G-A-M-E

sorry, today's post is only for people in japan!
if you're in japan and you love GAME(s), do plz come and hang out together at Tokyo Game Show 2008!

1. TOKYO GAME SHOW 2008

2. MONSTER HUNTER PORTABLE 2ND G

(Ruさん、PSPを貸してくれてありがとう!i'm enjoying it to the fullest - lol.)

WEEK OF NO RETURN

i've never read so many news as i have been doing recently. and if you don't understand what i'm going to talk about, READ SOME NEWS WEBSITES or GRAB YOUR FATHER'S NEWSPAPER !

and i'm sorry if you still can't understand this post ...

IT'S A MATTER OF TRUST.

so in the midst of the bankers' failures, the stock's going down and people losing hope, how do you expect someone to trust you with a lump sum of money? that's a question the remaining two needs to face. it all started with the basic rule: HIGH RISK HIGH RETURN - but people forgot the RISK part. until last year. just as it's written: for the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). well, here comes the evil part ne.

if you know what i'm talking about:

i'm praying for either CASH INFUSION or MERGER, but don't really prefer ACQUISITION.
(but i do expect stand-alone firm if possible - well that's the best anyway.)

i'm just an amateur, so i don't know which one is the best way, but i do know that someone needs to win back the TRUST of the investors. immediately. eventually. and you know, people really need to trust God more.

i would really appreciate for the rest of you to join in prayers with me, because the financial meltdown isn't over yet. if you don't know what to pray for, just pray for me =)

ROMANS 8:28
"And we know that GOD CAUSES ALL THINGS TO WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, to those who are called according to His purpose."

i just hope there will be no more BLACK MONDAY(S).

MELTDOWN

as i returned from Enoshima and read the news, i was totally shocked!

. . . unbelievable.

another financial depression since 1907. on march this year was the first. the day before yesterday two were down due to bankruptcy and acquisition. only two left. and the debts: they were over 60 trillion yen! really ne, this world is full of unpredictable things.

. . . how did it become like this?

please ask that question to a more appropriate person - lol.
well, there's a bit of uneasy feeling, and i'm slightly worried about the future, BUT !

MATTHEW 6:25-27,31-34

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

the day before yesterday a 158-year history ended. from now on, it's our generation's turn to draw a new history.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME !
